Skin Patching - Patch Paving

This application generally is used to fix minor depressions, low areas, trip hazards or severe raveled areas (rough areas).

Step 1
The process consists of thoroughly cleaning the asphalt surface with power blowers & brooms.

Step 2
Apply tack oil (SS-1) to clean asphalt surface with the desired patch area squared off.

Step 3
Place hot mix asphalt in the repaired area that is to be patched & leveled to match the existing grade.

Step 4
Compact surface with a vibratory plate (small patch surfaces) or a smooth drum roller for medium to large repair areas. The asphalt should be smooth in appearance when compaction is complete.

Step 5
Thoroughly clean repair area from any loose debris.
